Can I stay and watch my child’s lesson?
Yes you are welcome to stay and watch the lesson if you wish
Do you have any child protection checks?
I have an Enhanced Disclosure DBS check which is updated annually
Do I need a drum kit to start lessons?
You do not necessarily need a drum kit to start lessons. A good practice pad and a pair of sticks is a good starting point before buying a full drum kit.
What is the difference between learning on the electric drum kit and the acoustic kit?
My lessons take place on a top of the range Roland TD30 drum kit which is perfect for taking lessons as it has controlled volume so I can provide instructions as the student is playing and neither of us needs to wear hearing protection. The kit is sensitive to dynamics and we can practice all the same techniques that we would play on a real drum kit. It is, however, important to get practice on an acoustic drum kit once in a while either at home, school or I hold sessions at a local studio.
Why are you more expensive than other drum teachers in the area?
I have been teaching privately since 2006 and have built up a lot of experience in how to get the best results out of every student. I have had a number of students take grade 8 exams and go on to university to study music and other students who are now successful playing their own original and cover bands. My rate reflects my qualifications, my experience and my drum teaching space which I have invested in.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require at least 24 hours notice to cancel a lesson for any reason otherwise the full lesson fee is due.
How can I pay for lessons?
You can pay in cash, credit or debit card on the day of the lesson or in advance via BACS transfer.
